When you feel stuck in patterns that don't make sense, there's usually a reason. Many of the people I work with have been carrying something for a long time. On the outside, they often look capable, successful, and like they're holding everything together. Underneath, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in the same relationship patterns, or exhausted from trying to manage emotions that don't seem to make sense. Some clients come to therapy knowing their experiences are connected to trauma. Others simply know that something isn't shifting, despite years of insight, self-reflection, or trying to "work on themselves". What they have in common is a sense that there's something deeper underneath the symptoms.
I specialize in complex trauma, attachment wounds, and relational patterns. My work goes beyond symptom management to help clients understand how their experiences have shaped the way they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. I integrate EMDR, Narrative Therapy, parts work, family systems, and attachment-based approaches to support meaningful change and broaden capacity for the more intense emotions. Together, we work to understand patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, recognizing that many of the struggles we experience today once served a purpose. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade working alongside youth and families navigating complex trauma, gang involvement, sexual exploitation, family conflict, justice system involvement, and significant life transitions. Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience with many of the themes that show up in my work, including grief, family complexity, and navigating life's harder seasons. These experiences continue to shape the way I show up, with compassion, authenticity, and a deep respect for the resilience people carry.

"I'd tried therapy before but never felt like we got to the root of things. Kaitlin helped me understand that a lot of what I was experiencing made sense given what I'd been carrying. The EMDR work especially has been life-changing - things are finally shifting." - Y.K., British Columbia Client
